JACQUES CAYERE SR., CPA PFS CVA MBA

Jacq is a Certified Public Accountant with offices in Lake Ridge, VA. Jacq holds two additional professional designations: Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).

He leads the Personal Services Division of the firm and concentrates his time preparing personal, estate and trust income taxes and performing personal financial, divorce and estate planning engagements.

Jacq established his firm (Cayere & Cayere CPAs PC) on January 1, 1985 to provide personalized financial, tax and accounting services to the residents and businesses of Prince William County.

He retired from the US Army in 1983 as a Lieutenant Colonel after 20 plus years of service. As an Infantryman, Jacq served two years in the jungles of Viet Nam with Airborne Infantry units.

After Viet Nam, he attended Syracuse University where he received a Masters in Business Administration and a comptrollership specialty designation. Jacq worked as a financial manager in the US Army the last seven years of his military career.

The PFS designation recognizes CPAs that have demostrated skills in the personal financial planning field...it is held by less than 3000 CPAs.

Jacq is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA), an association of CPAs who perform valuations of closely-held business enterprises.

Moreover, Cayere & Cayere has sponsored financial seminars since 1985. Jacq believes that seminars are an ideal way to give something back to the community that has contributed significantly to the firm’s success.

 

JACQUES CAYERE JR., CPA

Jack is a principal of Cayere & Cayere CPA’s P.C. an Eastern Prince William Accounting Firm founded by his father in February 1985.  Jack joined his father in 1988 and became a principal in 1992.

Jack has been head of the Business Services Division since 1991.  Jack and his staff work closely with local businesses and their owners providing a wide range of services including, but not limited to, Business Consulting (management, tax, and accounting), Corporate and Partnership Tax Compliance and Preparation, Accounting Services including automated financial statements, software consulting, compilations and reviews; tax controversy representation; and payroll tax preparation and consultation. 

The hard work and long hours have not gone unnoticed.   Jack has been recognized by the Virginia Business Magazine as one of Virginia’s “Super CPA’s.”   This recognition is given, not by the public, but by Virginia CPA’s. Jack spends most of his time consulting with firm clients on all aspects of the business world and what it takes to be successful and stay in compliance with the ever changing laws.  In addition, Jack has spoken at many seminars, taught adult continuing education, and professional continuing education courses on small business tax, strategy, and accounting issues.

Jack began his accounting career in 1988 after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the School of Business Administration of George Mason University. Jack is a member of the Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.  He not only advises local businesses, he is also a resident of Prince William County.

 

CATHERINE DOWNER PIERCE, ADMINISTRATOR, BUSINESS DIVISION

Cathy has been with Cayere & Cayere since the inception of the firm in 1985 and has been working with our business clients since then. As the firm evolved, Cathy's experience and contacts earned her the position of administrative manager of the Business Division. As such, she is typically the first contact for business clients.

In addition to the administration of the Business Division, Cathy also works with clients working on financial statements and payroll issues. She also has the arduous task of keeping the Business Division Professionals in line.

 

KATHY DRIGGERS, CPA, SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT, BUSINESS DIVISION

Kathy has been with the firm on and off since 1987. During that time, she has worked in many of the different service areas of the firm, including personal taxation, business taxation, payroll compliance, financial statement preparation, and management advisory services.

Currently Kathy is a member of the Business Division staff. Here her primary duties are to help clients maintain compliance with Federal and State Laws, prepare business entity tax returns, and to assist with tax controversy representation.

Kathy is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (GO HOKIES!). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, with a minor in Sociology. She got her CPA license in April of 1991.

 

LINDA WESTERGARD, E.A., SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT, BUSINESS DIVISION

Linda has returned from 4 years overseas and claims coming back to Cayere & Cayere is like coming home! Linda is an Enrolled Agent (EA) with over 15 years of experience dealing with personal income tax issues. Linda enjoys the intricate details of the Internal Revenue Code. While overseas, she was employed by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu CPA Ltd. Asia Pacific Regional Office, Hong Kong, as a US Tax Manager.

She rejoins us as part of the business division providing personal income tax support to our business clients. As tax season marches on, she will provide additional support to our personal income tax staff. Linda is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from National University.

 

BRENDA WINE, E.A., ACCOUNTANT, PERSONAL DIVISION

Brenda joined the firm in 2007.  Prior to joining the firm, Brenda worked in public accounting for 14 years.  Brenda is a graduate from Northern Virginia Community College, with an Associate Degree in Business Administration.  She is responsible for preparing personal income tax returns.

 

MARIA CAYERE, OFFICE MANAGER, NOTARY PUBLIC

Maria is the office manager at Cayere & Cayere. She is in charge of Administration and is responsible for all firm accounting and related tasks. She is also responsible for payroll, accounts payable and receivables for the firm. Maria has been with Cayere & Cayere since the firm opened in 1985 and is a Notary Public.

 

RACHEL MCQUILLEN, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT & RECEPTIONIST, NOTARY PUBLIC

Rachel is the Administrative Assistant and Receptionist at Cayere & Cayere. She is responsible for providing support for the staff and is the first point of contact for our clients. Rachel holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Northern Virginia Community College and is currently a student at George Mason University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She has been with the firm since 2006 and is also a notary public.
